How do I get there?
Fly into Geneva or Zurich and rent a car or take a shuttle directly to the Gondola at the base of Lauterbrunnen. (You can type in the gondola address: Stechelberg LSMS, 3824 Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland on your GPS and it will take you there. Driving time from Zurich is about 2 hours, and from Geneva it would take about 2.5 hours. You will park your car in the parking lot at the gondola, and bring your suitcases etc with you to your hotel!! There are also hotels near the bottom of the gondola and even more hotels another gondola ride away, to a more well-known town, Murren.
Another travel option is taking the train from Zurich airport to Interlaken, which is roughly 30 minutes from Gimmelwald, and from there you can take a taxi, rent a car, or use public transportation.
When Should I Get There?
We recommend booking your hotel in the wedding area for the dates: 06/25/2025-06/27/2025. That way you don't have to worry about driving to and from the wedding! Interlaken is a 20-minute drive from the venues so if you plan on drinking, do not stay in Interlaken those nights!
Where should I stay?
There are different options for accommodation in the area of the wedding, we've listed some (but not all) of them here for your convenience. The town of the wedding itself is called Gimmelwald, and it's connected by gondola to a nearby town called Murren. Both towns are very small and everything is within walking distance. You are more than welcome to choose any of the hotels based on your personal preference.
Another option is staying at the Mountain Hostel itself, where the wedding ceremony will be held. This is a more budget friendly option and is also our favorite place to stay, but note - this might not be for you if staying in a hostel is not your thing! You will meet new lifelong friends I promise!
I've never stayed at a Hostel, what should I know if I want to try it for the first time?
All hostels are different but have something in common--- communal space. There are private rooms in the hostel if you want to sleep in your own room, similar to a hotel. Your bathroom is still shared with all hostel guests. It is a nice bathroom, similar to a nice locker room, stalls for showers and stalls for toilets, but you may be brushing your teeth next to a stranger :) The dorms can be co-ed or gender-based, depends on your preference. We highly recommend giving this a try, the beds are SO COMFY! and the atmosphere is like no other!!!!!! Not to mention it's our favorite place on Earth, even compared to $1,000/night hotel rooms. You'll save money, and have the greatest experience of your life, GUARANTEED. Plus there's a full kitchen, a restaurant, and a bar inside. And it feels like your own home :)

There are a few rooms that are similar to a hotel room. Other than those rooms, dormitory beds are super comfy, larger than a twin….but you may hear neighbors snoring. Shared bathroom for all guests but there are stalls for toilets and stalls for showers. It’s a lot nicer than you think!! This is such an incredible experience.

The prices range based on view and how many occupants per room. This is a pretty nice hotel in Murren. About a 9 minute walk and 1 minute gondola ride to the venue. This is also where the reception will be and where we will be staying, so if you want to finish the night close to your hotel room - this is your best option!
